Once you reach LCPL on most of your units, most firefights feel like a cakewalk, primarily because slapping 6 on intel and scanning gives you plenty time to infiltrate a map down to extremely light/vulnerable status. Alternate your nades between turns to mitigate the turn cooldown. Spam frags to drop priority targets and flashbang/outmaneuver the rest for the first couple of missions. Run flash/ablative/frag on everybody (I was a vest only type of guy in Long War 1 but the health buffer is the difference between life/death here with so many overwatch advent).Īn injury here and there is fine, the time between missions generally strips the feeling of danger out of even grievous wounds. I sold some shit in the black market to get the officer school, it isn't a game changer, but command has saved a bad situation twice, so I can't shittalk it too much. There's definitely a learning curve on some new/changed mechanics, but once you get used to those, I've found LW2 to be easier than I expected. That answer depends on how good you are at XCOM in general.
